AWFUL FALL OF DALLAS FIREMEN
One Is Fatally and Another Is Badly Injured


Dallas, Texas, Dec. 11 - Two firemen fell from the second story window of engine house No. 2, while scuffling this afternoon.
Fred Linzen, formerly of New Braunfels, is reported fatally injured. Ernest Jones, formerly of Kansas, is unconcious, but there are hopes of his living.

Peculiar Mishap That Happened to a New Braunfels Boy


New Braunfels, Tex., July 28. - A peculiar accident befell the ten-year-old son of Fritz Bloedorn. He was trying to blow a grassburr off the palm of his hand. In some way he sucked it down his throat and it lodged in his windpipe. So far the doctors have been unable to extricate it and he was carried to the hospital in San Antonio for an operation. The boy has not been able to speak since the accident.

FUNERAL OF "LIBERTY"

Sad Ceremony at New Braunfels Follows the Shutting Down of the Lid There Yesterday


San Antonio, Texas, Dec. 27. - The lid was on in New Braunfels today for the first time since the German village was established. The determination to observe the Baskin-McGregor law followed several conferences between the governor and the county attorney. As far as can be learned the law was very strictly observed, no side or back doors being open. "Liberty" was placed in a coffin and buried by the citiens just on the outskirts of the city. The coffin was preceded by a brass band and the funeral was an elaborate one. Some of the most prominent citizens were pall-bearers.

A CROSSING ACCIDENT

Two Men Killed At Katy Crossing In Comaltown, Near New Braunfels. Both Men Were Single.


New Braunfels, Texas, Sept. 2. - Albert Bauerschlag and Ferdinand Paulus, ages between 30 and 35, were run down and killed on a private crossing in Comaltown by the Katy passenger train No. 241, due here at 5:14 this morning. The accident occurred near the Paulus home, and their groans aroused his mother, who found both men in a horribly mangled condition. They were conveyed to their homes, where they died shortly afterward. Both men were single.

A WEDDING OF INTEREST

Miss Howard weds Dr. Byers


Miss Rachel Howard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Howard, and Dr. Earl P. Byers, of New Braunfels, Tex., will be married at 8 oclock Wednesday night in the church of the Immaculate Conception. Rev. Francis Roy will perform the ceremony. Miss Ruth Howard will be her sister's bridesmaid, and the groom will be attended by Eugene Mountain. Miss Barbara Byers, sister of the groom, will play the wedding marches. The couple will leave for New Braunfels, Tex., immediately following the ceremony.
